Our eyes are constantly working and are stressed by the increased use of phones and computers. It is common to have small eye misalignments. Small eye misalignments can lead to headaches, neck pain, and eyestrain because the eyes are constantly trying to re-adjust. Eye misalignment usually varies at different distances. Previous treatment included vision therapy or prism added to glasses; but at only one distance allowing symptoms to still occur. The Neurolens offers correction over a range of distances allowing for more eye relief. Approximately 80% of patients get relief from migraines, neck pain and eyestrain.

New Dry Eye Treatment

Our office has new equipment that helps guide treatment for dry eye. If you have dryness that is not responding to treatment, come in for a dry eye workup! We can now image the meibomian glands which help make the tears, measure inflammation in the tears and how salty the tears. 

New Treatment: Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL is a form of dry eye treatment that targets the glands in the eyelids that help make tears. This is a great option for patients with severe dry eye or meibomian gland dysfunction. A potential side effect of IPL is tightening of the skin! This helps reduce wrinkles! IPL usually requires 4 initial treatments spaced approximately 3 weeks apart. The effects of the treatment aren't usually noticed until after the 4th treatment. Then maintenance treatments are usually required after the 4 initial treatments but how often maintenance treatment needs to occur varies person to person.
